Restoring the Family

By Denise Boggs Today we are living in a time when the family is under great attack, the rate of divorce is just as great in the church as outside the church. So many families are broken and need to be healed and restored, many going for years trying to figure out what is wrong and too embarrassed to ask for help. God designed the perfect plan for the family, but if the family you were born into is dysfunctional, the plan was not implemented. Gods plan has always been for the fathers and mothers to teach their children the ways of the Lord. The home should be a divine school where Gods Word and Godly principles are taught and lived out on a daily basis. The parents are responsible for establishing a standard for righteousness, a standard for what is right and what is wrong. Where do you start? Start with love. God is love; therefore, the ways of God cannot be learned apart from the love of God; His ways will appear to be just a set of rules. However, a home where love is present is the perfect environment for a child to learn Gods ways. A home that is in alignment with the ways of God is a home that is blessed. So, to come into alignment for the full blessings of God, we must come into agreement with Him and learn His ways. When a family has the love of God, even the laws of God will be viewed and embraced as guidelines that ensure Gods blessings. We keep His commandments because we love Him. He, in turn, blesses us because He loves us. Just as there are laws in the land to keep us safe, there are spiritual laws that God has set to keep us safe. Psalms 74:17 tells us, It was You who set all the boundaries of the earth…. However, unlike the laws of the land, we are always subject to spiritual laws and will always pay the consequences for breaking those laws. Spiritual laws are much like natural laws. Take gravity; if a pencil is thrown into the air, it will fall to the ground every time. Just so with a spiritual law – break it and the devastating consequences must be paid, every time. This is true if we believe in Gods laws – or if we dont. In fact, it is Satans aim to destroy families by destroying the belief in the absoluteness of Gods laws. The following four spiritual laws are keys that will restore any family: The Law of Honoring Deut. 5:16 Honor your father and mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you on the land which the Lord your God gives you. (Ps. 119:1-3; Ps. 19:7-10; Eph 6:2) To dishonor our parents will bring trouble to our own lives. The Law of Judging Matt. 7:1-2 Do not judge lest you be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. We judge another because we see in them (speck) what we have in our life (log). When we pass judgment on the speck we are also condemned for the log. The Law of Reaping Gal. 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. A man reaps what he sows. Sow bitterness, you reap bitterness. Sow anger, you reap anger. Sow joy, you reap joy. Whatever you sow, you will reap. This is much like the natural law: For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction. The Law of Increase Hosea 8:7 For they have sown the wind and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up. (Gal 6:7) We sow the wind and reap the whirlwind. If bad seed is sown and not immediately unearthed, years later it will produce an entire crop of devastating consequences. Information Technology (IT) Job Descriptions

By Elizabeth Morgan The various types of jobs available to computer-savvy students and young people are increasing by the day. Students graduating from arts and science streams are learning computer programs to improve their IT skills. In fact, knowledge of computer software that is widely used for a range of applications is becoming a must-have skill for the job applicant. For instance, in geological jobs, the use of spatial technology computer applications is essential. The Global Positioning System (GPS) technology is used by a number of other professionals such as law enforcement agencies. It can be used to locate the earths resources, track vehicular movement, keep track of employees position and pace and check on flight movement across the nation. In a similar way, technology has also crept into the highly complex jobs of accountants. Those who are graduating with commerce degrees are also required to master the application of computers. In fact, with special software packages, accountants are now able to summarize transactions in standard formats for financial records and organize data for financial analysis. Those with extensive computer skills can specialize in correcting problems with software or in developing software for data management. Accountants can also perform more technical duties, such as implementing, controlling, and auditing systems and networks, and developing technology plans and budgets. Because IT jobs are aimed mainly at reducing time spent on company operations, and therefore, cost to the company, such skills are in great demand. Thus it is clear that IT skills are vital in a range of scientific jobs; those equipped with them can expect better job prospects. Job Descriptions provides detailed information about job descriptions, accounting job descriptions, free resume-writing tips, how to write a resume and more. Internet Tip of the Week: Retired or Re-treaded

By Bob Osgoodby Senior usually has the connotation of the older, especially denoting the older of two persons having the same name, as father and son. It can also mean above others in rank or length of service. We however, have attached another meaning by adding the word citizen. The term “senior citizen” has had an age attached to it. Usually at age 62 or 65 this title is bestowed, and some stores may provide discounts or other privileges when you have reached that magic number. AARP allows you to join at age 50. You can start collecting Social Security at 62, and many places have mandatory retirement at age 75. I find the term “senior citizen” however, somewhat demeaning. It somehow implies that someone is aged and infirm. Don’t get me wrong. Some of the benefits attached are worth the title. But most of the people I know in that age group, are not aged and infirm. Most are vibrant and alive, and after retiring from their “world of work” are ready for a new challenge. Some may continue as a consultant in their former line of work, others may choose something completely unrelated, or some may choose to do nothing at all. Some may be fortunate enough to have the financial wherewithal to travel and visit exotic places. Others may take up a hobby. Those who choose nothing at all will most likely join the small percentage that are aged and infirm. Today, our Seniors have an opportunity that previous generations did not. The wonderful world of the web provides something those who went before, didn’t even dream about. It can range from something as simplistic as a hobby to an exciting business. You can travel vicariously to any place in the world. We traveled to Spain a few years ago and believe it or not, I learned more about what we saw there when we returned home, and started researching things of interest we had seen on the web. If you’re planning a trip, you can find places of interest to visit, make travel arrangements, rent a car, or find accommodations. Are you a frustrated author? Why not consider writing as your hobby. You can submit your work to hundreds of online Ezines, or if you wish, start your own. I know a chap who was always interested in post card collecting. Now he can not only pursue this hobby, but has found many others online who have similar interests. They have developed quite a group of people who trade back and forth. More than half of Americans over age 60 say that computers and the Internet are making life better for them. Now that many are retired, they have the time to spend that they may not have had when working. Many use the Internet simply to keep in touch with friends and relatives. Some, who live far apart, can actually shop online at a local store where their friend lives. It also gives the “snowbirds” an ideal way to keep in touch. If you have always wanted your own business, but didn’t have the capital to invest, the web might just provide that chance. For a modest investment you can start your own business, and possibly change that hobby into a money making proposition. Like any business however, you must use “due diligence” before jumping in with both feet. There are a lot of get rich quick scams on the web, and many promise extraordinary earnings in a short time. Most of these, like the scam promising huge earnings if you help get millions of dollars out of an African country, should simply be trashed with a click of your delete key. I know another person whose hobby is gardening. She grows herbs and markets several products online. She has found a niche business that pays, and is now has her own web site. The ranks of the seniors are growing rapidly, and that fact is not being overlooked by business. Many companies are actively wooing this age group. So, if you are retired, or about to, use this wonderful tool to not only make your life richer, but help keep you young and vibrant. It is never too early to get involved, or too late. If you’re only using minimal features of your computer, why not expand your horizons? You may be surprised at what you find. Arranging Family Tree

By William Teleo After endless genealogical research and tons of paperwork, you are finally ready to sit down and complete your own family tree. But how to assign each relatives relationship with you? Surely, not everyone of them can count as that general entity “cousins.” That’s why you conducted the research in the first place, isn’t it? To avoid generalizing, know exactly the nature of your relationship to your other relatives. Setting the relationships in your own family tree in order is easy with a few simple tips. First, separate your relatives by generations. A generation is defined as a stage of descent. For example, you and your cousins make up one generation. Likewise, your parents plus their cousins make up another. Separating your data by generations will make it easier to track how many generations you have managed to traced. The generations will also determine how extensive your personal family tree will be. Label each generation starting from the earliest. If you managed to trace your parents’ grandparents and they are the oldest in your book, label them as the first. Second, identify from each generation who are your blood relatives from those who are connected to you by virtue of marriage. Blood relatives are those that are also of the same descent. These are your immediate family, your cousins, your parents’ siblings, your grandparents, your grandparents’ siblings — you get the picture. Relatives by marriage, simply put, are people who became your relatives just because they married a blood relative of yours. These include the aunts who married your uncles and your spouses relatives. Some people become your relatives through subsequent marriages. If you have them, you should also include your stepparents and step-siblings in your personal family tree. Be alert in making these distinctions. In the course of your research, you may have somebody in your list referred to as an uncle with no apparent relation to you. It is a common practice in the past for people to use these distinctions very loosely. A close friend or a benefactor may be called a brother, cousin, or uncle even without the necessary conditions such as blood relation or marriage. They should not be included in your genealogical tree. However, if these people made significant contributions to your family or treated like family by your older relatives, include them. Place your great grandpas best friend near your great grandpa but indicate that he is only a close friend. Third, connect each member of your own family tree through appropriate symbols. Connect parents to their offsprings through vertical lines. Use horizontal lines to indicate sets. If you are unsure how a person is related to somebody, use dotted lines. The equal sign generally indicates marriage. The plus sign or the cross symbolize death. For more detailed symbols, consult a family tree website or a guide book. With these simple tips, you’re on your way to completing your own genealogical chart. The Beast, the Mark of the Beast, the Harlot and What You Should Do Right Now

By Matthew Robert Payne Do you know that if you are doing something that you know is wrong then you are sinning? Do you know that if you are not doing something that you know you should be doing this is sinning? Are you tithing 10% to your church? If you are not you are robbing Me. Its that simple. If you are tithing 10% and you are giving to ministries this is a good thing. But if you are giving to ministries, and this is at the expense of your tithe to your local church then you are erring. You need to withdraw your money from the ministry and tithe 10% of your money to church. Now it does not take a genius to know that most of you are not tithing. My prophet read that only 3% ON AVERAGE OF Americans’ money goes to their church in tithing and that most Americans have put their money instead on TV Ministries. And so this prophetic word is addressing that. Are you in love with the world and its goods? This is also sin. Try to buy a non popular brand of jeans or dress next time and get the difference in the $70 jeans and the $25 jeans and send the $45 into six Bibles into China, India or Africa. Over a hundred people in China will benefit from that gift, and they will grow in the ministry and bring others to Me through that gift. If you persist to starve China of Bibles, My Father will judge the West very harshly. Now what about the Beast A man like unto the Beast is ruling your country. He is anti peace, anti turn the cheek, and is a man of courts and injustice. He is a man with his face set on darkness and with a loyal following of rich Christians supporting him. I have no time for your leader. Send him an email with this letter in it. What of the Harlot? The Harlot is the church who loves money and the world. The Harlot is the lukewarm rich church that does not obey My teachings of self denial and hating the world. You cannot serve two Masters; you cannot serve the lusts of this world and the Son Of God or His Father. Big bank accounts and big flash cars should only be in the possession of people like Job in todays society and you can read what Job was like in Job chapter 29. What of the Mark of the Beast? The mark is already here and the people who are going to take it have already taken it. I know the people that would deny a real mark, and I know the people that will not deny Me on the day. I already have sealed My People and My Bride, and narrow is the path that leads to life and FEW find it. If you are not tithing, if you love the President, if you are not giving to the poor and you are not denying yourself and your lusts to finance the Gospel, you are one that is in grave danger in the coming judgment and you will be really scared as it starts. What of the rapture? I am only taking the wise virgins, the people on the highways and the byways, the prodigal sons, the people that sold all their pearls for Me, the people that gave up all their riches for My treasure, the people that would search the whole day for Me, the lost coin, the people who are sinners who repent in tears and dont think they are righteous like the Pharisee. I am only taking the contrite and the pure and the people set apart for Me that obey my commands and My teachings, and are not following the watered down teachings of the Harlot. I am taking people unspotted from the world and its lusts, the poor and the hungry. I am taking those who have shared with the poor and fed the hurting, and stitched up the brokenhearted and had the sick and poor around to dinner at their house. I am taking those home with Me who are doing the best to follow Me, and who feel out of place in church and who are really looking for the truth and cant find it in a church. I am taking only these people with Me and I am not going to do it before the world is frozen in fear of My Father. Are you listening? Repent, tithe and give to the poor. Then read My Gospels to find out the fifty things I said you should do and not do, and start with My Spirit’s power to do them. See John 14:21. And He that is afraid of My words and denies Me before Men I will deny before the Father. So in light of this verse, pass this warning on via email to all the people you know. Just in case it really is Me, Jesus Christ speaking! Matthew shares his heart in these articles and can be found at http://www.online-prayer.net You can read more of his articles at his link below. If you want a copy of his upcoming book of articles which will have the first sixty of the articles on this web-site called “The Musings of a Mad Prophet” please contact Matthew via email so he can contact you around February 2007 to tell you of the progress of the book. Choosing the Correct Hair Products for Your Hair

By Barb S When choosing your shampoo please look closely at the label. You should see all the materials and substances it was made of. The main thing shampoos consist of are detergents the surfactants that make foam show up when mixing with water and air. Detergents. Detergent is shampoo’s basic and semantic component. After all the shampoo is intended to wash your hair, that’s all. All the stuff that is above this definition is called medicated shampoos, conditioners, antiseborrheic shampoos and so on. Though the amount of the foam does not determine the quality of the shampoo, the detergent has great influence on it. Nowadays few detergents that differ in its chemical structure exist. They are divided into anionic, cationic, nonionic and amphoteric. Anionic detergents are most commonly used in shampoos and shower gels. They are cheap and have good purifying qualities. Anionic surfactants can be easily removed from the hair. Cationic surfactants (with positive ions) are used not so often and have higher concentration. Some of them may cause eye irritation. Amphoteric surfactants that contain positive or negative ions depending from shampoos pH are used for curing damaged and dry hair. If we put in a line from worst to best we will get the following: Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, TEA Layril Sulfate, OAA Laureth Sulfate. So as you see last three surfactants are the best ones. On every shampoo’s label such detergent is displayed first. Conditioners Conditioners are not shampoos but assistants. You can find them as a part of shampoos or in individual bottles. There are lots of conditioners that have different practical significance. Moisturizers are assigned for dry hair because of their ability to draw moisture. Usually the components are proteins and vegetable extracts. Moisturizers are mostly made of lactoserum. Reconstructors contain proteins like hydrolyzed keratin. It can easily come through hair shell due to its small molecular weight. Reconstructor conditioners are used when the hair is damaged (i.e after hairdressing) Acidifier conditioners make your hair shiny and elastic. It gives an impression of boosted volume, but it is only an optical illusion. pH index is about 2.5-3.5. Thermal protectors can be found in shampoos with Therm or Thermal prefix. (like Thermasilk). Its basis are special polymers that distribute warmth when are put on the hair. This is very helpful for people who use curlers and blow-dry often. Hair conditioners can form a part of shampoo (so called 2 in 1). But the effect is less noticeable then after separate use. During simultaneous use you have lower chances for conditioner to work properly. As for using shampoos and conditioners of different producers. Using the conditioner Place conditioner on the hair, but not on the head. When doing that you can massage the skin on the head with your fingers If you have mixed hair you should work up only the tips. After using the rinser that you should wash your head 2-3 times with warm and the last time with cold water. Medicated shampoos Medicated shampoos are used for curing illnesses, especially dandruff. Dandruff appears when the microscopical fungus (Malassezia Furfur) starts its activity. That?s why dandruff shampoos contain substances against seborrhea and antifungal agents. Zinc Pirythione, Climbazole, Ketoconozole, Selenium Disulphide have antimicrobial effect against Malassezia Furfur that is supposed to cause dandruff appearance. Octopirox, Coal Tar, Selenium Disulphide suppress activity of cells that produce fat. Coal Tar, Sulphur , Salicylic Acid have keratolytic effect on the skin. In other words it is the capability to detach layers of dead cells that cause dandruff to appear. Choosing a shampoo First of all you must choose shampoo taking in consideration the type of your hair. Thus if you have dry hair you should buy moisturizing shampoo and so on. It is harder to choose when you got long hair of different types (oily hair at your roots and dry one at the tips). In that case cosmetologists suggest a new haircut. It is obligatory to pay attention on the detergent. Which one is better you can see in the beginning of the article. If you like the shampoo but it is not suitable for you try not to experiment with it. If the hair is damaged (after the hairdressing) you should use shampoos with pH 4.5-5.5 Stuff4Beauty.Com Hair Products Your Premere Salon Connection! 6 Tips For Avoiding Work From Home Scams

By Jordan Williams It seems like everyone is being flooded with advertisements on how you can be a millionaire by working at home. I see it when I turn on the TV, I see it when I read a magazine, I see it when I surf the Net, I see it everywhere! We just cant escape the latest get rich quick scheme. It seems like everyone and their grandma is trying to sell you that pie in the sky dream of living the perfect life. So the question comes up, is it truly possible to make a living by working from home or are all these advertisements we see just another scam? The good news is yes, it is possible to make a decent living by working from home but you need to be cautious. You especially need to be aware of online get rich quick scams. In this article I am going to cover 6 tips to help you discover which business opportunities are for real and which ones you should stay away from. 1) Do they have contact information? Obviously scam artist dont want to be found. So do they have all their contact information on their web site? Such as their company name, phone number, and address? Its also important that they have a physical address and not just a P.O. Box. Once you have their phone number you should call them and ask them any questions that you have. 2) Are they a legal company? Has the company been legally registered in their country? Each country has different laws in this regard, but in the United States you want to make sure that they are set up as a legal corporation. Look at the company name and see if there is a LLC, Inc., Corporation, Incorporated, Limited, Ltd., Corp., or Enterprises at the end of it. You can also do a search at Google and see if it is registered in that state. Just type in search for corporation (name of state) and you can find any registration data. 3) How do they accept payments? Another sign to look for is how they have set up their payment system. Have they taken the steps to have their own merchant account? If not then are they using a reputable 3rd party payment system? If they are using a 3rd party payment processor then make sure that you can dispute any charges made to your account. Paypal is a good example of a reputable 3rd party payment processor. On the other hand I would stay away from any company exclusively using payment systems such as Stormpay or E-gold. 4) Do they offer a real product? Do they offer a real product with real value? Most business opportunities that are scams wont even talk about a product or all they offer is a bunch of ebooks or other worthless products. If they are a legitimate company then you should be able to make money by selling their product or service. If the only way to make money is by recruiting other people to join then this is a sure sign of a scam. 5) What are other people saying about it? It is always good to know the experiences that other people have had with the business opportunity that you are researching. You can take a look at forums where people talk about their experiences with home based businesses to get a good feel of a company. You can find some forums by searching for mlm forums, work at home forums, or home based business forums on Google. Its also a good idea to get some referrals from the company itself. When you call or email them, ask them for some contact information of other members. That way you can get in touch with these members and see how its working out for them. Another good resource to check is the Work-at-Home Sourcebook” by Lynie Arden which has more than 1,000 home business and franchise opportunities, complete with realistic descriptions of what the work entails, how much it pays, up front costs, projected incomes, and addresses and phone numbers to facilitate contacting specific companies. 6) Do they make outrageous promises? Starting a home-based business is just like starting any other kind of business. It requires time, effort, and money. Be wary of any company promising you big money with little or no effort involved. There are literally millions of people making a living by working from home and its possible for you to be one of them. Just remember to use these 6 tips to find a legitimate work at home opportunity. College Tip: What Never to Admit, Even If You’re Being Honest

By Crystal Jonas Bevans College tips that no one will tell you, but that are critical to your college success are the essence of my guides for college students, including my book “College Success Your Way” What Your Professors Won’t Tell You and Your Friends Don’t Know.” Some college students haven’t quite thought through some of the things they say on the spur of the moment. Here is one off-handed comment I’ve seen tighten the jaw of many professors. Be socially savvy and spare yourself (and your professor) this much ‘honesty.’ Never, ever admit that you hate the class. I do not care if you consider the admission, as one misinformed student said, “just being honest.” While just being honest is normally a noble trait, there’s no need to have full disclosure about something that might offend the person with the power to flunk you, or to make the semester very unpleasant. Think for a moment about how many brain cells your professor has sacrificed on the academic alter to get her PhD (or Master’s, for that matter) in her chosen field. Quite a bit, thanks for asking. For years, she gave up watching television, spending time with friends, and reading books with no social redeeming value so that she could devote her time to study, write and research, days, months, and years on end to immerse herself in this particular subject. Now, you’re going to moan and groan about how this course has nothing to do with your chosen career field, and you can’t for the life of you understand why anyone in her right mind would make her life’s work in this silly subject for Pete’s sake, and why, oh why, couldn’t you just take only those classes which have real appeal for you? Let me give you some tough love here. A college education purposefully exposes you to a well-rounded education. If you only want to study one topic, see if you can get into a trade school somewhere. A balanced curriculum is one of the great benefits of advanced education. To complain about a class and go on about how you don’t see its value not only insults the person who has made it the nucleus of her work, it also makes it look like you don’t “get” the concept of higher ed. Such is not a great way to impress your teacher. Raise your awareness about how your professor feels about her chosen career field. Too many clueless students have innocently stated that they can’t stand the class they’re in, nor can they fathom why they have to be subjected to the torture of taking the class when they can see no value to it. What in the world would possess them to say such a thing right in front of the teacher? Not only right in front of her, but sometimes, right to her face? Who knows? Just don’t you be one of those clueless college kids who runs like a bulldozer over the teacher by going on about how stupid and useless the class is. It will only reflect poorly on you. Your professor’s impression of you, like it or not, will be consciously or subconsciously in her mind every single time she grades one of your assignments or tests. Give her the opportunity to think the best of you. So, if you don’t like the class, you’re probably not the only one, just keep it to yourself. Antiques – The Modern Day Treasure Hunt

By Tom Murphy In today’s world, everything thats old can be described as antiques and generally speaking thats quite true. A product is considered to be an antique if it is over a hundred years old or is rare enough to have some value. In other words, these are old items that are in limited supply. An antique is something collectible. It may be a piece of antique furniture that you want to collect to enhance the look of a room, or a piece of antique pottery to decorate a corner cupboard, or some antique books, antique camera and photographs, antique jewelry, antique money, antique car, antique clocks, or antique watches that you want to hand down to your grandchildren but the items must be rare enough to be considered an antique. The others are just secondhand goods junk. Most people have a common misconception about an antique: the older they look, the more antique they must be. Appearance has nothing to do with it, just because a piece looks like it came out of grandma’s attic does not necessarily mean that its an antique. The value of an antique is based on demand due to suitability and limited supply. Most people become fascinated in an antique for two reasons; either they have an interest in collecting antique purely for personal enjoyment and are willing to shell out money for antique restoration or they inherited it from a family member. The most common are antique pottery, antique car, antique furniture, antique books, antique camera and photographs, antique clocks, antique money, antique jewelry and antique watches. However they came about it, everyone wants to be sure of one thing that what they buy or inherit will escalate in value as time goes by. That is what antique collection is all about. There are two main principles that apply when collecting an antique: The first is to know everything that you can about the antique that interests you and second is to obtain them at the lowest possible price. Doing so will not only give you satisfaction and enjoyment, but at the same time you will also be assured that your investment will appreciate in value. Some people only developed an interest in antique because they inherited an item or a whole house full of antique from a relative. The dollar signs started to appear and they began their hunt for some antique appraisals and antique auction. But what most failed to consider is that much of what Great Grandmother had is probably just junk, unless she was a seasoned collector whos into antique restoration or an expert in antique appraisals. Its true that people could have bought a piece of furniture to decorate their home a long time ago and that furniture, if it were of fine quality, would now be worth something. But only a professional appraiser can guarantee that, and appraising costs about $100-150 an hour. So if you are keen on bringing you item in an antique auction and contemplating about asking someone how much an item is worth, be prepared to shell out a few bucks for the information. Appraisers charge so much because they shoulder the lions share for insurance companies and lawyers settling estates. Although appraising is not an exact science, it still requires an appraiser to do lots of research and then prepare a detailed report thats acceptable in a court of law.
